Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Kyle — I’m a woodworker, a veteran, a husband, a father, and the hands, heart, and sawdust behind Hayden Custom Woodworks in La Grange, NC.

My passion for woodworking started early, working alongside my father in the garage. Years later, my wife and I began building furniture for our home together, not only out of necessity, but because we wanted pieces that felt meaningful, were made with care, and would withstand all life’s chaos. That journey sparked something deeper, and in 2015, Hayden Custom Woodworks was born.

Before turning to woodworking full time, I proudly served 10 years in the United States Air Force. That experience shaped the way I work today: with discipline, precision, accountability, and an unshakable attention to detail. Whether it was maintaining aircraft or leading my troops, the lessons of service, reliability, integrity, and pride in doing things right, have carried over into every piece I build in my shop

What started as an interest in woodworking and design quickly developed into a full-blown passion for building pieces that are as meaningful as they are functional. I work out of a small workshop on my property, where every project gets my full attention. From the first rough pencil sketch to the final coat of finish, I don’t believe in cutting corners, rushing through builds, or treating customers like order numbers. I believe in building things that last, that matter, and that reflect the personality of the person they’re made for.

As I mentioned, my own home is filled with dozens of pieces I’ve built over the years, not just for show, but for everyday use. They’ve weathered life’s storms, helped create countless memories, and still stand strong. I like to think that’s the best proof I can offer, furniture that looks good, feels right, and holds up to real life.
